content-image-fruitApproximately one in two New Zealanders are obese or overweight, that’s almost half of the population! And the prevalence of obesity has tripled in the last 30 years.

Being overweight or obese is a significant health risk. It has been proven that by losing excess body fat and living a healthier lifestyle you will not only live longer but also look better and have more energy.

Shake it

shake-itThe Shake it programme is a natural fat loss system, which uses the body’s own metabolism to burn fat. Available from all about health & wellness, the Shake it programme is based on a person gaining a maximum of 10% of calories from low GI (glycaemic index) carbohydrates, 60% of calories from fat and a minimum of 30% of calories from protein.

The use of only low GI carbohydrates ensures that the body does not produce high levels of insulin. This is important as high levels of insulin will cause the body to store carbohydrates as fat, and stops fat being converted to energy. This has the effect of not only making a person fat, but will keep them fat. Similarly, the high protein content of the shake-it shakes and bars is critical as it ensures the maintenance of muscle mass, the place where fat is converted to energy.

$49 for an initial “shake-it” consultation, including a Bio Impedance test.

We can also assist you with personal training and clearing of emotional blocks (N.E.T) to help keep you on track.

Throw away the scales

bathroom-scalesMost people associate weight loss with good health, but this is not always the case. Many diets designed to reduce a person’s weight do so by depleting the body’s fluid levels and muscle mass. This can cause a rebound effect in weight gain, damage the immune system and, in some cases, cause irreparable harm to a person’s health. Body composition (or the fat to muscle ratio) should be the focus of any “weight loss” program. Reducing body fat while preserving muscle mass is the number one biomarker of ageing and has been shown to be one of the best ways to promote good health, improve body shape and increase longevity.

Get the right advice

Experts recommend that before you undertake any “weight loss” program that you consult with a healthcare professional to assess your current health status. This is common sense and is part of the reason why the Shake it is available only from healthcare professionals.

Paddy is the best person to explain the Shake it to you. She will be able to do a complete analysis of your body composition, help you to set goals, develop an exercise program and monitor your progress. It’s important to note that the Shake it is not a “weight loss” program but a fat loss program. Depending on the amount of muscle mass you have, Paddy may want you to gain more muscle while you are losing fat.

Understand that you are not alone

Changing your eating habits and undertaking an exercise program may seem like a daunting task, but the Shake it is easy to follow and you will not have to do it alone. Paddy and the all about health & wellness team are an excellent source of support and we have numerous techniques to help get you started and keep you motivated. Setting realistic goals, monitoring your progress, regular weigh-ins and support group meetings are all areas where we can help.

Weight loss testimonials

Shake-it + N.E.T. plus HCG available
I am not a morning person… so ‘Shake It’ is great for me, it satisfies my appetite longer than a regular breakfast so I don’t feel the need to snack.  Best of all it is quick and easy.  ‘Shake It’ is also convenient if you want want to have it on the run, as you just add water and shake.  Thanks to ‘Shake It’, I am well on the way to reaching my goal weight, which I am thrilled about.

Jenny

I started going to John for personal training about three years ago. I needed to lose a lot of weight, and to gain some fitness. I couldn’t even get up our pathway without feeling exhausted (and it is not a steep path!), and I struggled with depression. I had pretty much tried everything to lose weight, but I now believe that the only way to do it is to have a supportive team behind you. Both Paddy and John have been fantastic. I see John once a week for personal training and he has been so supportive – he has pushed me along, and been encouraging when things got hard, and celebrated with me when I reached a personal best. John has always explained the exercises well so that I can do them at home, so that I feel confident and motivated.

Once a month I weigh in and have a BIA test to measure fat versus muscle and this has been a really good motivator for me as well. Especially good when the scales are not showing much of a difference. It is easy then to think I am not making progress, but the BIA shows otherwise. I have lost 27kgs and I can now really enjoy looking after my granddaughter, and going on walks with my husband. Life is so good!! There is more work to do yet, but with Paddy and John on my team I know I will get there.

Binge eating

I know we only had 2 sessions together but it feels as though my life has changed immeasurably since the time I spent with you in regards to NET.

Binge eating and many other annoying little habits that had formed over my lifetime, had been addressed in a separate session, and again, I really don’t understand it, but whatever you did Paddy, I don’t know, I haven’t been able to control this for almost 20 odd years and yet you found the root of the source all over again without suggestive prompts etc. I am amazed and in control again. Wow! 5kgs of weight has gone in 2 weeks without even realising. I am a super fit woman but have struggled with binging once a week usually.. however I have changed nothing and yet felt no need to binge since my session with Paddy and it’s been a month! Yay!
